As we invest into tech, training, and techniques, we have to keep track of the bookings to see what works.

Coaches can only teach you what they THINK works, the true test is whether you book or not.

For example, I trained a lot in political but I still have trouble figuring out what exactly they want.
I auditioned for a specific spot a while ago and today, I got a call and booked it. Yay.

In my mind, I had one question. My audition had two takes, one that was slightly sarcastic and the other
almost leaned into a Casey Kasem style thing. What did they like? The Casey Kasem. Wow. That went against
a lot of things I was learning. They want honesty, right?

The truth is, for political, I was taught that there are a lot of spots that want the bigger read, the
harder hitting read. That’s been the thing I’ve been missing.

Keep track of your bookings, there are clues for where you fit in the industry.

You will never be anyone else, and no one can tell you how to book work. They can think they can tell you, but
they don’t know. The truth is YOU book work. And you need to figure out what works for which projects. You learn
how bookers do it and maybe their ideas connect to you. Try the techniques, see if it books. Mold it to you, see
if it books. There are techniques for all these types of reads but you never know until you BOOK! Even when you
book, one client is different than the other.

I know this is a HUGE task, believe me. But, if you put even a small amount of energy into figuring out where you
fit, you could save yourself a LOT of time.
